Located in Mitata, a village in the heart of Kythira, the resort is surrounded by breathtaking historical sites. Through time and space, visitors are captivated by the historical archive that is engrained into the Kytherian landscape. Referred to as the island of heavenly goddess Aphrodite and Eros, located in southern Peloponnese and Crete, visitors are offered unique and invaluable experiences. From Village to Beache, Museums to Monuments, Churches to Caves and Castles, there is always something captivating to explore.

Hot and sunny summers between July and August average 25.5 °C (78 °F) whilst mild and rainy winters in January and February averages around 11 °C (52 °F) so guests can enjoy The Windmill Resort all year round. 

THE LIGHTHOUSE OF MOUDARI

A stunning view from the top, the Lighthouse of Moudari. Built by the British in Greece the 25 metre tall lighthouse was constructed in 1857. Located at the most Northern point of the island it is a place worth exploring. 

THE GORGE OF TSAKONAS

Nestled in between the villages Mitata and Viaradika, this beautiful canyon offers explorers a chance to view history while being surrounded by stunning springs and beautiful hidden churches. 

NERAIDA WATERFALLS

In the picturesque village of Milopotamos resides a stunning natural beauty at its finest. A mesmerising scene of flowing water, tropical greenery and quaint little bridges. This enchanting environment will leave you feeling charmed and refreshed. 

CHYTRA (AVGO)

A short distance from the harbour of Kapsali is the very remarkable skerry of Chytra. An enchanted cave fills the south side, remarkable sights of colour reflect throughout the interior and exterior of the cave. 

THE GORGE OF KAKIA LANGADA

A time capsule from the 13th century The Gorg of Kakia Langad is one filled with magnificent sights through the ruined byzantine town of Paleochora and finishing at the beautiful beach of Kakia Langada. 

22 STUNNING WATERMILLS

Wonder down the dell of Milopotamos and you will find the stunning Fonissa waterfall. Amongst the rocks, trees and ivy are 22 watermills. Family operated and still flowing, this stunning site is one to see. 

THE HARBOUR OF AVLEMONAS

Just outside the harbor of Avlemonas a stunning ancient shipwreck dating back to 1802. Once used was to transfer stolen Parthenon sculptures and fragments from other monuments. A must see for diving enthusiasts.

Where better to enjoy a glass of Vino than the relaxing oasis that is within the romantic and peaceful atmosphere of Kytherian bars and restaurants. Where nightlife is about lounging and enjoying time with friends without the hustle and bustle of loud nightclubs. Wonder down to Kapsali, Agia Pegalia and Chora for the most popular night spots.
